SELECTED KEY TERMS AND CONCEPTS
In this series, we will be focusing on the crisis faced by modern Muslims, which is fundamentally an intellectual and moral one caused by the "loss of major terms" and the "false representation" of key concepts. Modern education and secular frameworks have stripped major concepts of their religious and metaphysical depth, turning them into vague, incoherent, or purely physical ideas. Intellectual maturity cannot be attained through secular concepts and can only be recovered by reclaiming the right Qur'anic semantic vocabulary.

TAKBIR:
Its Meaning and Lived Reality
23rd May 2026
The Islamic recitation of Takbir is not merely a festive ritual but a profound affirmation of Tawhid, representing the absolute oneness and uniqueness of God. This declaration resonates with the Fitra, or the primordial nature of the human soul, which contains an innate, inborn recognition of the Divine established through a sacred covenant before physical existence. To live the reality of this truth, one must transcend superficial cultural expressions and pursue a knowledge of certainty that aligns the heart, intellect, and actions with God’s will. Ultimately, internalizing this message serves to decenter the ego and protect the believer from the distractions of secular ideologies, transforming every life experience into an intimate act of true submission to the source of all existence.

Some Fundamental Elements
of Adab
14th February 2026
This lecture by Dr. Roslan Jelani explores the conception of ādab as a vital framework for restoring the worldview of Islam in the face of modern secularism. A pervasive loss of ādab has led to intellectual confusion and a "tragic spirit" of doubt, where Muslims often adopt secular concepts devoid of their original religious and metaphysical depth. True ādab is defined as a cognitive process involving both the recognition and acknowledgement of the proper places of things, fundamentally linked to the principles of wisdom, justice, truth, and ma‘rifah. Ultimately, the lecture emphasizes that education must move beyond mere information to internalize the truth of Islam, allowing individuals to fulfil their cosmic role of maintaining social and cosmological harmony.

Justice, Adab, and Self-Governance in the Age of Artificial Intelligence
6th March 2026
This lecture serves as a profound critique of the modern obsession with artificial intelligence, arguing that technological advancement often leads to the belittling of the human intellect, which is a sacred entity derived from God’s spirit. True justice and adab—the ability to put things in their right and proper place—cannot be achieved through data alone, but require a metaphysical foundation and the nurturing of the soul’s highest faculties. By distinguishing between the artificial constraints of AI and the transcendent potential of human wisdom, the text warns that total dependence on machines risks an existential crisis and a state of "intellectual deafness." Ultimately, the discourse calls for a return to self-governance and a worldview rooted in revelation, urging listeners to prioritize the purification of the heart over the mere accumulation of physical information.

Forum Perihal Keadilan
dan Hakikat Insan
28 Februari 2026
