This educational series explores tawhid, the foundational Islamic concept of Divine Oneness, as a comprehensive worldview that bridges logical reasoning with deep spiritual experience. The lecture series will move from establishing the rational demonstrability of God’s unity to examining how this belief must manifest in right action and a conscious internal light – the practice of shari'ah at the level of ihsan. By contrasting this perspective with the human-centric focus of secular humanism, the series will highlight a return to man’s primordial nature and the ancient covenant of monotheism. Ultimately, the lecture series aim to guide students toward the state of servanthood, which is presented as the highest realisation of human potential and the key to maintaining a constant awareness of the Divine Presence. For phase one, Dr. Roslan Jelani will begin with the NATURE OF GOD and each topic in this phase will be covered in 2-4 sessions. The topics in this phase are as follows: 1. This session explores the Oneness of God (Tawhid) as the indispensable foundation of the worldview of Islam. Allah is a dynamic and necessary existence who actively governs the universe rather than leaving it to independent laws. Human beings possess an innate nature (fitrah) and a primordial covenant that predisposes them to recognize this divine authority, though these potentials must be actualized through willing submission and correct knowledge. By contrasting Islam with secular and other religious frameworks, the lecture emphasizes that ignoring this metaphysical reality leads to cosmological and social chaos, as Tawhid serves as the only ultimate standard for human action and unity. Ultimately, the discourse calls for a Tawhidic approach to education and thought, where the awareness of God as the Real (al-Haqq) and the Sovereign (al-Malik) begins and ends every intellectual and spiritual endeavour.
